Good afternoon, Jedi. Today I will be discussing the top five planets in the Star Wars universe. Simply put there are so many planets to take into consideration, however, I will be using information from the TV shows and movies to formulate this list. I hope you enjoy these planets and their descriptions as much as I do.
5) Forest Moon of Endor

The Forest Moon of Endor, located in the outer rim is currently orbiting the planet of Endor. Some notible species that live here are the sentient Dulok, Ewok, and Yuzzum species, as well as the semi-sentient Gorax and Wistie races. However, most viewers of the Star Wars movies will most recognize the friendly and lovable creatures known as Ewoks. That’s right. EWOKS. The cute teddy bear looking inhabitants that helped the galaxy’s most well-known heroes bring down the Galactic Empire. So this planet and its inhabitants are a force to be reckoned with.
Endor is 43,000 light-years from the Galactic Core of Coruscant. With that being said, the planet hosts dense woodlands, tall mountains, and savannahs. Humans are welcome on this planet and can breathe normally as the planet has 8 percent surface water.
Some history that comes with this planet is that some Ewoks were also hunted by Humans during the early years of the old republic because Ewoks were a common snack. The Galactic Empire also established a shield generator that protected the second death star from the rebellion. The Galactic Empire’s forces also purged the Ewok population at the time which led to strained relations between numerous Ewok tribes and the Empire. However, the Ewok population would soon have peace after the battle of Endor took place and worked with the alliance to bring an end to the Galactic Empire.
This planet ranks number five on my list not only due to the Ewoks but also because this is where the Galactic Empire was at its last breath.

4) Tatooine

Just like Endor, Tatooine is located in the outer rim territories. This planet though, is one of the most popular planets in the whole Star Wars franchise due to the fact that many of the galaxy’s most famous figures visited this planet.
Let’s start with Luke Skywalker. Luke was born on Polis Massa in 19 BBY. However, after the Galactic Empire formed from the Galactic Republic, he was taken to Tatooine to be under watch from Obi Wan Kenobi. Luke grew up on Tatooine, helped his aunt and uncle’s moisture farm and eventually went with Obi Wan Kenobi to get R2D2 to Alderaan when the Empire destroyed Luke’s home.
Anakin Skywalker, Luke’s father was also born on Tatooine. He was a slave to the Hutt Family with his mother when he was young. However, when Anakin met Qui Gon Jin, he fought his way to be free by Podracing and was freed by Qui Gon’s dealings with the Hutt clan. Anakin also watched his mother die by the hands of the Tusken Raiders. So to say that Tatooine is a safe place is wrong. The Galactic Republic tried to implement Anti-Slavery laws into the planet, however, those laws didn’t reach into the outer rim like how they were supposed to.
The planet also has the well-known twin suns which leads many farmers to get involved with moisture farming because there is no vegetation on the planet. Jawas and Tusken raiders are common natives of the planet and the planet also played an active role in The Clone Wars trade routes for the Galactic Republic. many farmers to get involved with moisture farming because there is no vegetation on the planet. Jawas and Tusken raiders are common natives of the planet and the planet also played an active role in The Clone Wars trade routes for the Galactic Republic.
Tatooine is ranked number four on my list due to the fact that the planet plays a huge role in recent galactic history.
Below is a video about how Anakin Skywalker looked for his mother as she was taken hostage by Tusken Raiders.
3) Mustafar

The planet of Mustafar is intertwined between two gas giants in the outer rim territories and was aligned with the Separatist Movement during the Clone Wars and also aligned with the Galactic Empire after the fall of the Galactic Republic as Darth Vader used this location as his headquarters.
Besides Darth Vader using this planet as his base, this is where before he became a Sith Lord, Anakin Skywalker fought his mentor, Obi Wan Kenobi. Skywalker was given orders after he murdered Jedi and padawans in the Jedi Temple to travel to Coruscant to murder the leaders of the Separatist movement. Skywalker did so and he also ran into his wife, Padme Amidala who he almost killed when they discussed their future. This planet is where Anakin fully embraces the dark side of the force and he loses to Obi Wan Kenobi and becomes fully engulfed in Lava and loses the battle. Then his transformation into Darth Vader begins.
Some more planet history is that the inhabitants of this planet live in caves and eat at the planet's core. This planet ranks number three on my list not only due to the importance in Galactic History, but also due to the fact that this is where one of the galaxy’s most infamous villains rise.
Below is a video showing how Anakin and Obi Wan fought on Mustafar.
2) Mandalore

Mandalore is one of those planets that interest me more than any other. That is why it ranks number two on my list.
Mandalore is located in the outer rim territories and is led by the Mandalorians, a war torn people. In the old republic, the Mandalorians invaded the old republic and two jedi knights, Revan and Malak fought the Mandalorians. Eventually this conflict led to what is known as the Mandalorian Wars. The Mandalorians lost the war against the republic and then the war morphed into something else entirely, The Jedi Civil War. In the Clone Wars, the Mandalorians were a peaceful planet looking to forget about the wars from the past, however, when Darth Maul overtook their planet and their leader, Satine died at the hands of Maul the planet was once again in chaos. It was in the time of the rebellion that the Mandalorians were reunited and fought the empire.
With all of these wars comes how the the mandalorians lived in doomed cities and within individual tribes, Mandalorians were fighting for control.
As stated above, Mandalorians are a war torn people and their struggles are the most interesting out of all the planets.

1)Coruscant

Coruscant is a planet that will forever remain my number one choice for my favorite planet of all time. I remember watching the prequels as a kid and seeing the city covered planet of Coruscant. This planet is also very influential to galactic history.
It was the capital city of the Imperials and the Republic when both were at heighted power and this is where trade flourished in the galaxy. It also served as the center for culture, fine arts, technology and much more. Humans also first arose from this planet and then were able to spread across the whole galaxy. The Jedi Temple is also one key figure on the planet because it was looked at as the high point of the Republic and was destroyed by the Empire.
This plant is beautiful to look at through the eyes of the numerous films, TV shows and books that are out there and for that reason among the interesting history of power, Coruscant is my number one planet.

I hope you enjoyed this list of planets. I will post again next week and until that time, may the force be with you….
