Today marks the day where "A Legacy Continued" will air its first episode.

A Legacy Continued- Episode One (Devin Martin-Canva).

My mission for this podcast has been that “Star Wars” started their own marketing push called “Our Star Wars Stories” last month and it really got me thinking that there is a lot of great “Star Wars” stories out there by fans that can be told. I made it a goal of mine to continue that mission and localize it here at the University of South Dakota community. Here each week I will talk with a fan to see what “Star Wars” means to them and how they want to continue the “Star Wars” legacy.

My first guest for the episode is Ryan Vinzant. Ryan is a first-year criminal justice major from Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Ryan has been a “Star Wars” fan since he was young when he used to watch the films with his family. His first memory is watching “The Empire Strikes Back” with his father and ever since then, Ryan has been an avid fan.

He likes to watch the original trilogy and his favorite film is “The Empire Strikes Back” due to Darth Vader. Ryan’s “Star Wars” legacy is that he will continue to appreciate what George Lucas created and will always admire the franchise. Some of his quotes from the episode are below.

“My favorite character is Darth Vader and he’s portrayed in "The Empire Strikes Back" the most, that’s when he’s the most angry. Showing all his dark side powers.”

“My dad started showing the films to me when I was around four. So I just took an interest from there, watching all the movies and such. I actually made my first friend through "Star Wars" in Kindergarten.”

That’s why I chose Ryan for an interview. I always talked about “Star Wars” with him so I knew he would be a great first guest.

We discuss where the franchise is at now, what his favorite moments of the franchise are and where he wants to see the franchise go next.

We also discuss UltraSabers.com and what they showcase and what they offer to fans. I picked to discuss UltraSabers because this is something that I think “Star Wars” fans should know about. There are a lot of lightsabers that you can buy on the market, however, a lot of them just look cheap.

UltraSabers is known for being “The Combat Lightsaber Specialists.” This is saying a lot and with users being able to customize the hilt, sound effects, color, ect, it’s safe to say that fans really are getting their money’s worth.

Above all of what we discuss, putting this first episode together was a lot of fun. To be able to discuss the franchise with another fan was interesting. My goal is to try and put out more episodes each week for you to enjoy.

In the meantime, I hope you enjoy this first episode and special thanks to Ryan Vinzant for being my first guest, UltraSabers for letting me discuss their products and music was provided by www.bricktrick.de. Below is the podcast's first episode. As always, may the force be with you.
