"Episode IX" predictions, theories

It’s weird to think that “Star Wars Episode IX” will be premiering next December and I know many fans are intrigued to see how the saga will conclude.

In a new report from Variety, Lucasfilm said they want to have a “course correction” for "Episode IX" after the “Solo” box office slump.
“Solo” earned around $392 million around its release this May and was the film that lost the franchise the most money, around $50 million.
Which means that J.J. Abrams, who directed “The Force Awakens”, will also be directing "Episode IX." The title for the film can even come early November as well.

With production beginning for "Episode IX" in August, there are numerous questions to see how the time-spanning saga will end.
J.J. Abrams plans to also pull all three trilogies together for this film so it’s anyone’s guess to see where the storyline will go.

There have been some fan theories explaining that Hayden Christensen will return to reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker giving advice to his grandson Ben Solo, now known as Kylo Ren.
The scene was described as Kylo Ren being in a cave where a force ghost of Anakin Skywalker and Luke Skywalker appear. Luke looks at Ben, smiles and disappears. Leaving only Kylo Ren and Anakin Skywalker to talk.
I personally find this the most intriguing. I am a big prequels fan so to be able to see this carried out would be something that I would be very interested in seeing. Would Anakin give him advice? Would the path to redemption begin for Kylo Ren? It’s hard to say but it would be interesting.

Another theory I saw would be that Kylo Ren would ultimately die in this film. Lucasfilm did say that this was “the end of the Skywalker saga” so does that mean Ben Solo has to die in order for peace to be in the galaxy?
I mean, the Skywalkers have brought the galaxy hope and suffering so I think that by having Kylo Ren die would be interesting to see but I think that it is unlikely.
Now I have to address the Reylo situation and I hope that this does not happen. We see in “The Last Jedi” Rey and Kylo Ren get a lot closer because of the force but does this mean a relationship? I think not because the same problems facing the galaxy would begin all over again like they are in the sequel trilogy.

Plus we have seen two main romances on screen; Anakin and Padme, Han and Leia.
Something I would like to see from the sequel trilogy though is something that was explained and left in the air from “Rebels.”
Grand Admiral Thrawn.
After Thrawn and Ezra were transported to the unknown regions in the series finale it only leaves me more questions. How did they both survive? And with Emperor Palpatine being a master manipulator did he know this was going to occur? Did he have plans for the First Order just in case the Empire did fall?
This theory is the most interesting to me. With Richard E. Grant in the film there were many theories around saying he would be playing the Grand Admiral. He denied those rumors, so if he won’t play the Grand Admiral I sure hope someone does.

Not only is Thrawn such a complex character but could he have started the First Order somehow? Did the Emperor secretly have this as a plan?
In the “Thrawn Trilogy” he did pose as a threat to the New Republic with only a handful of the Empire’s ships.
To me this would tie in connections to all trilogies and make sense. I’ve always wondered, how did the First Order rise from the ashes of the Galactic Empire? Why would there be an Empire 2.0? This to me is it.
These are some of the theories I have unpacked for this post. With there being almost a year left until "Episode IX" is released I really can’t wait to see how the franchise ends, I hope you can relate.
