A Long Time Ago in a Galaxy Far, Far Away..... There is someone who is writing not only his first blog post about his favorite movie franchise, but someone who is also going to work diligently to bring you Star Wars news daily. That's right, it's me!

My name is Devin Martin and I am a junior at the University of South Dakota studying Journalism and Political Science with a minor in the force.

I wish the last part was true, however, with how busy my schedule is at the university I need to have an escape to where I can write about something I enjoy. And yes, that is Star Wars.

I remember going to the movie theatre seeing Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith with my dad when I was eight-years old. Seeing General Grievous for the first time and witnessing the fall of the Galactic Republic and the rise of the Galactic Empire is something that eight-year old me will never forget.

With Disney now acquiring the rights to produce more Star Wars media, it has only peaked my interest in the franchise. I continue to read more novels in the expanded universe, catch up on all of the television shows and watch the movies more than I should.

With that being said, I will be writing and updating this blog about once a week simply because all my friends and family think that my addiction to Star Wars is unhealthy so I will showcase my knowledge of the Star Wars universe to you in a way that helps explain certain time periods, cultures of different species and discussing the numerous television shows and movies that are out there.

What I just described only scratches the surface of what I want to accomplish. With that being said, I want to hear from YOU. There is a contact box at the bottom of this blog. Feel free to use it and I will base that as my next blogpost for the following week.
